What you are buying

A one-time rain flood risk check for a civic address you choose: a rain-on-grid simulation computed over a hexagon of about 400 m around the property, from the government terrain model (NRCan HRDEM, 1 m) and public data. The result includes the peak water depth modelled at the address during a design storm (100-year return period, 60-minute duration, intensities from Environment and Climate Change Canada's records for the nearest station), whether rain collects there, what street drainage removes where municipal data exist, a map and a 3D view of the neighbourhood with the storm animation and, when data quality allows, a PDF report.

The simulation is a shallow-water simulation of the rain that falls on the area itself and runs off over the terrain; water arriving from a river or lake, sewer backup, the pipe network, roof and lot drainage, ice jams and storm surge are not modelled. Where the public structures inventory records a culverted road crossing, the crossing is lowered to a partly blocked opening rather than solved hydraulically. If the simulation cannot complete within the time allowed, or no terrain data covers the address, the order is refunded automatically.

This is an indicative screening. It is not a hydraulic study, not an insurance assessment and not an official flood-zone map, and it does not replace your municipality's maps or professional advice. Levels are expressed as CGVD2013 elevations.

Price and payment

The price shown at purchase is in Canadian dollars, taxes included. Payment is processed by Stripe. We never receive or store your card number.

Delivery

The result is produced automatically, usually within minutes, and made available at the email address you provided and on floodverity.com through a private link. The link stays active for 30 days.

Cancellation and refunds

Because the service runs immediately after payment, it cannot be cancelled once the result is delivered. If we cannot produce the result (for example, no terrain data for the area or a processing error), the payment is refunded in full, automatically, to the original payment method, and you are notified by email.

These terms do not remove the rights the Québec Consumer Protection Act gives you for a distance contract.

Liability

The result is provided as is, for information. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any damage related to the use of the result is limited to the amount paid for the check.

Personal data

How your email and the checked address are handled is described in the privacy notice. That data is deleted automatically 30 days after purchase.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Québec and the laws of Canada applicable therein.
